2008-now
As a Solutions Architect his responsibilities were as follows:
  • Modernizing the Motor Vehicle Domain for the Department of Public Safety
  • Creating the architecture for the (Y)LS/CMI scoring and report application to be hosted as a service
  • Creating a ASP.NET application for the automation of the creation of user accounts
  • Modernization of the Fire Incident Reporting System from two separate Access Applications to a Web based bi-lingual Internet application using a SQL Server back-end through Web Services.
    Included mapping capabilities (Virtual Earth) to the application.
    Reporting is done in SSRS.
  • Involved in supporting the upgrade from the NB911 ArcGIS Application to the Bell Solution hosted by Bell
  • Research and Development of some training and development virtual machines (VMWare) to replace the usage of multiple physical machines.
  • Modernization of the Disaster Financial Assistance Application from MsAccess 97 to an ASP.NET 3.5 Web Application with an SQL Server 2005 back-end. Also created a Service that imports the SNB Applications file into the DFA database.
    Included mapping capabilities (Virtual Earth) to the application.
    Reporting is done in SSRS.
  • Creating MS BizTalk Orchestrations combined with .NET Web Services to import data from Service New Brunswick into the NB911 SOS Database.
  • Doing maintenance and making small modifications in PowerBuilder for the NB911 SOS Windows Application

2000-2008
As a Senior Software Engineer his responsibilities were as follows:
Software development including:
  • Development of Web based Administration Applications (e.g. reporting from the Oracle ERP system with Crystal Reports) in ASP.NET;
  • Development of a housing valuation software program for the Dutch market (capable of exchanging data with municipalities) in VB.NET 2003;
  • Development for a housing valuation software program for the Dutch market in BaaN IV;
  • Maintenance of websites, which include:
    • Grontmij websites (Internet and Intranet);
    • SeaSilt website;
  • Interview customers and document user requirements;
  • Write functional and technical specifications;
  • Develop estimates for the software development;
  • Plan, design and co-ordinate the development, integration and operation of computer-based systems;
  • Act as a mentor for developers.

1995-2000
He started with the company as a Programmer was subsequently promoted to Software Engineer with responsibility for:

  • Software development for Triton and BaaN IV customizations including customizations involving the integration between Projects, Distribution and Finance.
  • Document user requirements and develop functional and technical specifications;
  • Prepare development estimates for the customizations;
  • Plan, design and co-ordinate the development, integration and operation of computer-based systems;
  • Act as a mentor to the developers;
  • Participate in the quality team for the software development.
